that since I made the Scottish Saltire,

I needed to make a

Union Jack for the United Kingdom.

To celebrate my Scottish roots and to make as a Thank You gift for the man who did the research in Scotland for me, I designed a heart combining the Stars and Stripes and the Saltire.

1st of all, i wish I had pix to show all of you what I am making, but none of them are finished . . . and all are going to be sent to people so I can't show them until they get them . . . they either read the blog in blog-land or on facebook.

But, since no one knows they are getting anything, at least I can tell you what I am working.

I started a baby sweater out of Aunt Lydia's #3 Double Strand in, I believe, Mexicali and Victory Red. I so like making baby sweaters and dresses out of this cotton thread. hey feel so nice when touched and their drape is better than yarn.

Next, I started a St. Patrick's small, it is about 1/2 way done. Next came a patriotic small which I finished then started a Christmas small which is close to be 1/2 done.

I cleaned out some of the patterns I had copied. I found a bunting I always wanted to try, so I started it On the 2nd row I had to totally change the pattern . ..didn't like the way it was turning out. Then I got to the body and tried the body that was written out . . . didn't like that either. So, basically, I used the chain they suggested, and the rest, as they say, is history. Can't wait to see what it looks like when I am done.

Oh, I forgot 1 thing, Jessie, I made a couple of things to send to you today before I started the bunting. I found another pattern that I had always wanted to try, so you will be the recipient of it . and a couple of other things that I think you will find useful this month . . . hint, hint, and they have nothing to do with Ground Hog or President's Day :0}

1st Finished Smalls

For those of you who don't know, smalls are little ornaments. I have loved them for a long time but these are the 1st two I have designed and completed.

This is my 2nd design.

I just call it Heart 01 . . straight forward and to the point.

This was my 1st.

It has a front and a back . .

I still need to attach a charm

to the back to finish the back

but I wanted to post the front ASAP.

Yes, you read it right . . 14.5 ornaments are done. You will notice that the 14th one is only started. So, maybe it should be 14.25 . . but who's gonna be picky?

If my plans, at present, go as planned . . . this will be the blog for my Fur Babies Sampler.

I want to make each square 1" x 1" . . . with the name of the specific fur baby the square is dedicated to written below the square.

Each square will have a different stitch, similar to the ones Denise made in her 100 Blessings sampler.

Now, to finish my 100 Blessings sampler so I can start on this one . . . perhaps, I may take time off of my blessings sampler to start on this one.

I want to do the squares in order . . . so I may have to send a note to Connie Anderson to see if they still have the "kids" records on file at the Animal Hospital and if she can send me a copy of the 1st page of each.
